Do Not Let The Mirrors Beat You Down - Perfect Your Skin

Let’s face it ladies. The mirror is a gigantic reflective jerk. It constantly picks on us and magnifies our biggest flaws. Though I hate to admit it, we cannot banish reflective surfaces. So, I have a proposal; let’s minimize the flaws mirrors can point out. All the women have their own insecurities. However, there are a few ways by which they can take care of their skin:

1.    Sunblock. We hear it all the time from doctors, magazines, even commercials. Yet we still avoid SPF. Ladies, it’s time to admit it. We are really over-complicating life by trying to discover some new contraption or cream to be forever young. But the battle is not with age it is with the sun. Load up on the SPF. Remember, too much sun can increase the risk of skin cancer, or worse, wrinkles.
2.    Wash. Use a makeup remover before washing your face. This will ensure all dirt and oils are removed. In addition to proper cleansing, your face needs to be towel dried properly. Tugging on the skin or rough rubbing will stretch your skin and irritate your face. This will open the door for wrinkles.
3.    Moisturize. No matter your skin type, moisturizer is important. Oily or dry lotion is important. In addition, dink water. It’s a great way to keep your skin hydrated and fresh.
4.    Face scrubs and masks. Exfoliating is an important part of every skin care regimen. This removes all dead skin and clears your pores preventing acne and black heads. In addition, masks can revitalize your skin and leave you feeling fresh. They greatly improve your skin tone by brightening your face.

Here are two big things to avoid while perfecting your complexion:

1.    Don’t pick, scratch, or touch blemishes. Whether it’s a black head, a cold sore, an ingrown hair, or the biggest zit this planet has seen. Do not touch it! It will only make things worse. The blemish will get red and enflamed. Not only that, but your hands can also add germs, bacteria, oils, and dirt to your face, which can increase the amount of break outs on your face.
2.    Be gentle. Pulling on your skin as you apply makeup or remove it can stretch out your skin and increase wrinkles. Be gentle with your skin, only dabbing with a towel and rubbing in creams with gentle circular motions.

Most importantly, when you look in the mirror, do not allow it to beat you down. After all, the mirror only points out what our eyes perceive. If you look to it to point out your flaws it will happily accomplish the task, likewise, if you look to it to display your assets it will do so with pride. It is all about perspective, not reflection. It is not the mirror you are fighting, it’s you.
