Need for Speed Rivals Coming This November with an Open World Experience

2013 is a great year for the racing games. At least one driving video game was featured by each press conference during this year’s E3, and several of these games seem to be offering alike next-gen options and features. Among other games including Forza Motorsport 5, Gran Turismo 6, The Crew and DriveClub, EA presented Need for Speed Rivals, which will be the latest entry in a long-running Need for Speed series and first title from Ghost studio of EA in Gothenburg.

Frank Gibeau, EA Labels president, explained during an interview why Need for Speed Rivals stands out in the pack. He said that he thinks EA does a real nice job capturing a feel of real driving and making the chase-or-get-chased feature possible. He said that it is much more about instinctual driving feel via a billboard, making a jump, but in an authentic vehicle, a car which feels and looks exactly like a 911 should be driving.

He added that they like telling the stories of racers and cops, and the stories occurring in open world. The racing category used to be about 20% of the company’s business back on PlayStation 2. It is single digit now insofar as a percentage of company’s overall business. Gibeau said that they think there’s much more innovation needed to put for keeping the category of driving as an expanding one. As per EA, a driving game requires an open world approach, a competition approach, and a multiplayer approach.

He further shared that they received a lot of great feedback on Need for Speed Most Wanted and if Need for Speed Rivals is looked at this year, the game has been built on an open world. Need for Speed Rivals is more like country open world, contrasted with a town open world. The EA developers will look how they will make the experiences in the game from a far more open world. The game is competition-based, however authentic to cars.

However, now it is a good time to decide the odds of both companies in winning the console war. Unless, a lot of work has been done by Microsoft undercover, Sony already holds an advantage over Microsoft as it will be the one releasing its console first.

Everyone is aware of what Sony is bringing in its new console, but it’s time to consider what Microsoft might introduce. The first thing that needs to be considered is the assertion that players will be required to be online constantly on the new Xbox, even when they are playing single player games. Nevertheless, this deal isn’t going to work any favors for Microsoft if they really undertake it. This is not considered a good idea at all by anyone, except for perhaps dusty old executives. Console Demo For Resident Evil Revelations Announced

Known in Japan as Biohazard, Resident Evil is a renowned media franchise in the whole of the gaming industry and is the property of the video game company Capcom. Initiated in the year 1996, it is a survival video game series and has sold more than 50 million units all around the world. This franchise has also expanded over the years to include novels, comic books, animated feature films, sound dramas and an array of merchandise like action figures. The latest installment of this survival horror video game series called Resident Evil Revelations was only released for the 3DS console of Nintendo.

It was announced on January 22nd of this year that the game will also be coming to other platforms including PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and the Wii U. Capcom made another announcement regarding this game. Now horror fans will be able to get a small yet highly anticipated taste of Resident Evil Revelations through the upcoming release of a downloadable demo that has been especially designed for PSN, Steam, Nintendo eShop and XBOX Live. People were saying that the new version of this game is coming soon but Bethesda’s Pete Hines has clarified this phenomenon. Actually Arena was being spotted in the Australian database. But Bethesda said that they are not going to release any new version of the game and the rumor was caused due to some clerical mix up especially on the part of the Australian classification Board. As for the control features of PlayStation Vita such as the rear touchpad, the Unity tools will be customized, which is a huge benefit. Sony consoles have previously supported games built on Unity. However, this  new arrangement will make it considerably easy for developers to introduce Unity titles with other problems without facing much trouble. Previously, Unity was usually used for making PC games, but with Sony’s move, even more studios can start making use of it in order to help games adapt to the consoles of the company. The CEO of Unity Technologies, David Helgason said that this move of Sony was for the purpose of dealing with independent studios. He mentioned that the Japanese company was aiming to make its platform accessible for all developers and this partnership would go a long way for both companies.

Helgason said that Sony really wanted to open its platforms for other developers and Unity was simply leading to make development easier for all studios. Sony said that by offering Unity on its consoles, the company was providing its customers with the opportunity of enjoying new and creative games from some of the highly talented developers of the industry. It’s now the time to divest those pelts for cash. You can unlock another achievement if you visit every store to sell your pelts. This will grant you Coureur des Bois achievement. Coureur des Bois is French for “woodsman”.

Eye Witness Achievement

It is for sure a wild world – a world full of prey and predators. Witness a predator slaying its prey to win this achievement.

Spit Roast Achievement

Get to foes loaded with muskets. Turn their own weapons against them in order to unlock Spit Roast achievement.

Predator Achievement

You are just like the Batman for your acts, except you kill the foes rather than leaving them to be found by police. Murder your enemies - at least five of them, with the rope dart to win this achievement.

Kidd Gloves Achievement

This achievement is probably one of the very difficult things to be granted in the game. To win this achievement, you must discover the secret of Oak Island.
