An online petition trying to convince the Rockstar for releasing GTA V on PC seems to keep growing, with its most recent milestone being 600,000-signature mark. Last year, the petition had received 40,000 signatures, but then grew to 470,000 by mid-September 2013. With Grand Theft Auto V having been available to users on gaming consoles for only over a month, number of supporters for this petition has grown to about 610,000.

A PC version of the game was rumored for some period of time. Intel stated recently that it believes the Grand Theft Auto 5 will be available to PC in some time. An anonymous source has also indicated the release of game’s PC version during next spring. The timetable like this would match that of PC versions of other fellow Rockstar games L.A. Noire and Grand Theft Auto IV, which were launched almost 6 and 7 months following the console versions of the games, respectively. Some fans are concerned and feel that the game won’t ever be available on PC. They think so because another popular game Red Dead Redemption that was released in 2010 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 has still not been made available on PC.

The year 2013 had been called an important one for the entire gaming industry. This was due to the fact that the two major gaming companies namely Microsoft and Sony were planning to introduce their eighth generation consoles this year, after Nintendo had unveiled the Wii U in November 2012. But, more importantly for the fans and gamers, it was the year when Grand Theft Auto V would be released. Grand Theft Auto is one of the most popular action-adventure game series of all time and this installment was being launched after the Grand Theft Auto IV launch back in 2008. To say anticipation was high would be an understatement.

The game finally hit the stores on 17th September 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. It became a smash success by making about a billion dollars within 3 days of its launch. Then, on Tuesday, the much-awaited online version of the game was launched by Rockstar Games, but it was replete with the connectivity problems that people had been afraid of. Similar to releases of online versions of other major games, the launch of Grand Theft Auto V’s online version was also plagued by connectivity problems and server issues. The online version of this game adds a multiplayer mode to the console version.

Shortly after the game was launched online, gamers began to complain of server issues that were preventing them from accessing the game. Disconnection issues and failure to load were also amongst reported problems. A webpage was created by the company in response to the complaints where it was providing updates regarding this issue. They apologized for the problems and asked for some patience from the gamers. The support website created by Rockstar is offering gamers the service of automatic email notifications every time an update is posted. But, no comment was made by the company regarding the problem.

According to experts, the popularity of the game is partly responsible for the problems that are associated with its online play. One expert was of the opinion that the company was attempting to scale its hardware quickly in order to cope with the unexpected requirements that had surfaced because of the incredible sales of the game. He said that the company would have had to add cloud server farms for providing support to the huge number of gamers. Rockstar itself warned last week that the popularity of the game may not be handled efficiently by its servers.

Rockstar stated that they were trying to cope with the higher than expected number of players and was working round the clock for alleviating the additional pressure on the servers. They said that the first few days would be temperamental because of the excessive load. The problems being faced by the company are simply an echo of the ones that were encountered by Sim City of Maxi and Diablo 3 of Blizzard Entertainment. Apart from these dilemmas, the company is also facing pressure from the fans to launch a PC version of the game as soon as possible.

Take-Two made an announcement today that GTA V has made more than $1 billion just during its first 3 days on retail sale. Take-Two mentioned in its announcement that they believe this is marked as the most significant and the fastest milestone that any entertainment asset, including feature films and video games, has reached.

The CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick said that Grand Theft Auto happens to be a cultural marvel and Rockstar Games carries on redefining what could be achieved in the interactive entertainment. He further added that they are all extremely proud of the amazing commercial and critical response that Grand Theft Auto V received.

Rockstar, earlier this week, made an announcement that Grand Theft Auto 5 made $800 million just in a single day. Previously, analysts assessed that the game might make $1 billion in the first month of its release, but it seems that they completely underestimated how enthusiastic people were to be visiting Los Santos.

One of the most highly anticipated games this year has been the latest of the Grand Theft Auto Series of Rockstar. All year, gamers have been desperately waiting to get their hands of Grand Theft Auto V that underwent a lot of delays. However, after these delays, Rockstar had confirmed that it would be launching the game on September 17th, before the next generation consoles go on sale. But, it seems that Amazon was even more eager than the fans to give them early access to the game. This is because Amazon.co.uk actually delivered copies of the video game to customers even before its official launch on Tuesday, leading to a breach in a strict embargo that had been set by Rockstar.

The title had been pre-ordered by a number of people and several of them received their copes a few days before the video game was officially launched. The Scottish creator of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar North hasn’t made a public comment as yet, but is actively investigating the incident, according to reports. As per Amazon, only a small number of customers had received their copies of the game. An Amazon spokesman stated that they had established the procedure of delivering title to customers after its official release.

He added that they were investigating the situation where a small number of customers had apparently gotten their order earlier. The customers were obviously delighted for receiving the game early and getting to play before others. However, this doesn’t discount the fact that it has created a lot of problems for Rockstar. It is also disappointing to other shops and even the customers because spoilers are being posted online by those who have already played the game. The title has been stocked by a total of 2000 shops for selling it after it is launched officially.

It was mostly people who had ordered their copy of the game as early as March, were able to receive it early. Others who had ordered at a later date weren’t so lucky. The fact is that this sort of confusion and error tend to occur frequently, but this time it has become overly publicized because of the hype of the game and also the widespread use of social networks. There is nothing that can be done by Rockstar at this point because the damage has already been done. As a matter of fact, pre-release copies of the game are also being sold by several retailers like Cex.

They are charging a price of around 75 pounds, which is almost double the price that will be charged when the game becomes available officially. This is not the first leak that Rockstar has had to deal with in regard to its games. In August, Rockstar had received an apology from Sony as the company had revealed an audio about the forthcoming game title. A ‘locked’ version of the game was downloaded by customers who had pre-ordered, but some of them had managed to find out some plot lines by extracting audio.

The latest edition of one of the biggest and greatest game franchises is being launched this year. To be released on September 17th, it is expected that Grand Theft Auto V will be able to sell 25 million copies of the game through which it will generate revenue of up to $1 billion in a single year. The question is, what will this game be? Will it be an education of teenage titillation or a work of genius of escapist immersion? Here are some things that gamers can expect from this latest game in the Grand Theft Auto series:

1-     This game is the most expensive game of the series and it was rumored that it had a budget of $265 million. Its production values are quite lavish and are way higher than what was spent by James Cameron for developing his two top movies Avatar and Titanic.

It is the largest soundtrack that has been made so far for a game.
